Specialists from the Faculty of Electronics and Information Technology of the Warsaw University of Technology (WUT), with the participation of scientists from the Medical University of Poznań, analyzed intestinal sounds.
Researchers from the Warsaw University of Technology dealing with artificial intelligence have developed a tool that helps to analyze the acoustic activity of the gastrointestinal tract. The solution allows for non-invasive and inexpensive diagnosis of certain diseases of the digestive system.
The method is non-invasive – a recording analyzed with the use of artificial intelligence and the doctor’s knowledge are enough – informs PW. For patients, this means a convenient alternative to troublesome tests, such as a colonoscopy. Also, this means savings for the health service.
The tests show a very high quality (accuracy, specificity and sensitivity) of the solution prepared by AI specialists from Warsaw University of Technology.
