The State Higher Vocational School (PWSZ) in Chełm has developed a form for the production of helmets. Together with the Lublin University of Technology, it intends to produce even several thousand pieces of helmets every day. They will be transported to the medics in the region.
The engineers of PWSZ Center for Engineering Studies in Chełm designed a special form, necessary for the production of visors with injection molding machines. The daily production may amount to several thousand pieces, due to the fact of the use of injection molding machines will be used for their production, instead of 3D printers.
-We are part of the local community and want to support healthcare professionals. However, instead of 3D printers needing up to 5 hours for printing several helmets, we decided to start mass production using plastic injection molding machines – said Dr Eng. Arkadiusz Tofil, rector of the PWSZ in Chełm.
The implementation of a joint project of both universities will allow to support doctors and nurses from hospitals and medical emergency stations in Chełm, Lublin and other towns of the Lublin province.
