From September 2024, two new faculties will operate at the University of Wrocław (UWr): the Faculty of Neophilology and the Faculty of Social Communication and Media. They will be created out of the structures of the current Faculty of Philology. There will thus be 12 faculties at UWr (currently there are 10).

The decision to create the new units was preceded by consultations. In April 2023, a survey was conducted among all employees of the Faculty of Philology, divided into two groups: research and teaching staff and administrative staff. In the group of research and teaching staff, 70 % participated in the survey. 

A total of 247 respondents spoke positively about the idea of division, 35 spoke against and 33 abstained. The rector’s decree on the creation of new faculties within the structure of the University of Wrocław will be issued at the beginning of the year.
