Two PhD students of the Silesian University of Technology have been among 64 winners of the ETIUDA competition in the field of exact and technical sciences. They will receive funding from the National Science Center for the implementation of their research projects.
Małgorzata Burek from the Faculty of Chemistry will receive PLN 120,700 for the implementation of her project “Hydrogels containing trehalose – research on synthesis, characterization and biomedical use”. Wojciech Uchman from the Faculty of Environmental and Energy Engineering will receive PLN 108,656 for the project entitled “Experimental and computational determination of performance characteristics and efficiency of the micro-cogeneration system”.
ETIUDA is a competition for scientists taking their first steps in the research. Within its program, PhD candidates receive scholarships of 4.5 thousand PLN monthly. The laureates also have the opportunity to complete an internship at a selected foreign research center.
