Established as part of the European Universities initiative, The Green European University – UNIgreen alliance will hold its inaugural conference at the Warsaw University of Life Sciences (SGGW) on 31 January 2023.

UNIgreen is an alliance of eight European universities University of Almería (Spain), Agricultural University of Iceland (Iceland), Agricultural University Plovdiv (Bulgaria), Haute Ecole de la Province de Liège (Belgium), Polytechnic Institute of Coimbra (Portugal), Paris Sup’Biotech (France), Università degli Studi di Modena e Reggio Emilia (Italy) and SGGW in Warsaw, specialising in agricultural sciences, life sciences and biotechnology.

Its aim is to seek to strengthen the links between education, research, innovation and knowledge transfer on the way to creating a model European university for higher education and research in the areas of: Agro, Bio and Life Sciences. The project also aims to promote equality and inclusivity in academia and openness to other cultures and multilingualism.
