The Daniel Fahrenheit Union of Universities in Gdańsk, which consists of the Medical University of Gdańsk, Gdańsk University of Technology and the University of Gdańsk, has become a new member supporting the Gdańsk-Gdynia-Sopot Metropolitan Area.
– The University of Gdańsk deals with not only Gdańsk, but also with Sopot, Gdynia, Kashubia and the Hel Peninsula. We feel connected with our metropolis and want to actively participate in its development and actively support it. We have a lot to offer in this field – says the rector of the University of Gdańsk, Prof. Piotr Stepnowski.
The Gdańsk-Gdynia-Sopot Metropolitan Area (formerly: Gdańsk Metropolitan Area) is an association of 59 communes, cities and counties of the Pomeranian Voivodeship. About 1.6 million people live in the area of its operation. The main goal of the association is to take action for the economic development of the region, which will translate into the quality and comfort of the life of the inhabitants.
