The 1st competition under the ‘Regional Initiative of Excellence’ (RID) programme has been resolved. As a result of the competition, the Minister of Science and Higher Education awarded funding for the implementation of 30 Plans covering objectives to raise the quality level of scientific activity and the quality level of education in a group of scientific or artistic disciplines of particular importance for the region.
The value of support under the first edition of the RID programme for 2024-2027 will total over PLN 270 million.
The aim of the RID programme is to support academic institutions that stand out in the regions in the pro-quality development of scientific activity and education in areas of significant importance for the respective regions.
The currently inaugurated first edition of RID was preceded by a pilot round of the programme, under which funding was awarded, for the period 2019-2023, to thirty universities implementing development projects in scientific or artistic disciplines defined by the minister.
