University Clinical Hospital of the University of Warmia and Mazury (UWM) in Olsztyn received PLN 19 million from the Ministry of Health for the “Onkoinnowacje” project. The facility will spend the acquired funds on the purchase of specialized medical equipment. This will improve efficiency in cancer diagnosis and treatment.
The Ministry of Health has been implementing the “Onkoinnowacje” project from 2014 to 2020. It is financed by the European Union. University UWM Clinical Hospital joined it at the end of September 2019.
– We will be able to detect tumors faster and heal patients faster and the cure rate will be significantly better. We are the only regional hospital in the Warmian-Masurian Voivodeship and we are becoming a leader in oncological diagnostics and early detection of cancer. This should significantly reduce mortality in our region and accelerate the therapy – says Łukasz Grabarczyk, MD, medical director of USK.
