The University of Adam Mickiewicz in Poznań was ranked 250th in the “green” UI GreenMetric World University Rankings 2021. It is the second place among Polish universities. The list included 956 universities from all over the world.
The ranking assesses activities related to sustainable development and climate protection, including the degree of the greening of universities, electricity consumption, as well as the use of transport, water consumption and waste management. This year the jury also investigated activities undertaken by universities in the time of the COVID-19 pandemic.
The University of Adam Mickiewicz obtained a total of 6,950 points (325 more than in the previous year). The first place in Poland was taken by the Gdańsk University of Technology, ranking 135th on the list. Wageningen University and Groningen University from the Netherlands and the University of Nottingham from England topped the ranking.
