The Faculty of Food Technology of the University of Agriculture in Krakow (URK), on July 6, 2021, laid the foundation stone for the construction of the Center for Innovation and Research in Pro-Health and Safe Food.
The Center for Innovation and Pro-Health and Safe Food Research will carry out specialist and innovative research, which will allow performing works for the economy, enabling the implementation of products, technologies and procedures increasing food safety and ensuring high quality of food.
The users of the Center will be mainly academic staff from the Faculties of Production and Energy Engineering and Food Technology.
The center will be equipped with the most modern infrastructure in southern Poland. The facility will include production lines (bakery and confectionery with a warehouse and a mill, meat with a warehouse, fish, as well as for the production of juices, beverages and wines with a storage room and warehouse, as well as milk with a warehouse). There will also be a microbrewery with a shot blasting plant, a warehouse and a beer storage room. Also, the Center will run microbiological, analytical and waste processing technology laboratories.
