The Vice-Chancellor for Development of the University of Białystok (UwB), Dr Jarosław Matwiejuk, Professor UwB, and the Provincial Police Commander in Gdansk, Superintendent Andrzej Łapiński, signed an agreement on cooperation between the largest university in Podlasie and the Provincial Police Headquarters in Gdansk.

According to Prof. Matwiejuk, the agreement will enable the implementation of joint initiatives and development work in the field of forensic science and the organisation of training projects.

The cooperation will particularly involve the Faculty of Chemistry of the University of Białystok, which for several years has been running second-cycle studies in forensic and judicial chemistry. Students on this course receive comprehensive, practical preparation for work in analytical laboratories and learn about, among other things, analytical techniques and methods used in modern forensic science. The course is run in cooperation with, among others, the police.
