Professor Stanisław Dubisz will be the guest of the next meeting from the series “Lectures of Masters” at the Faculty of Philology of the University of Bialystok (UwB). On 10 April 2019, he will talk about the periodisation of the development of the Polish language, in particular after 1939.
Professor Stanisław Dubisz is an eminent Polish linguist, researcher of the old and present Polish language, editor-in-chief of the “Language Handbook” and the “Universal Dictionary of the Polish Language”, co-author of renowned “Historical Grammar of the Polish Language”. He is a recognized author of several hundred articles and many extensive works belonging to the strictest Polish canon, for example: “Between old and new years. Essays about language “; “Archaization in the 20th Century Polish Historical Novel”; “Language and politics. Sketches from the history of rhetorical style”.
He is an employee of the Institute of Applied Polish Studies at the University of Warsaw.
