The Department of the Sociology of Politics and Security of the Institute of Sociology of the University of Bialystok is organizing a scientific conference “Disinformation – Inspiration – Society. Social Cyber ​​Security” on January 12, 2021.

The organizers emphasized, that the contemporary development of the information society and the increasing complexity of the network generate significant problems in the field of research on the flow of information. In addition, the strong coupling of the virtual sphere with real social reality, especially in young generations, limits the possibilities of explaining simple conceptual models used in sociology. This requires the development of a new methodology.

In response to these threats, new research on social cyber security, a new area in the security discipline, appeared in the US. It can be called “social cybersecurity”.

During the conference, participants will try to analyze how to implement social cyber security in Polish conditions, discuss issues of the development of disinformation and inspiration, as well as consider the directions and methods of shaping public opinion.
