The project “Regulation of the p53 pathway by a protein of the AAA + family (Reptin)” led by Prof. Theodore Robert Hupp from the International Cancer Vaccine Research Center at the University of Gdańsk and Daumantas Matulis from the University of Vilnius, received funding in the Polish-Lithuanian competition DAINA 2.
The aim of the research is to develop new strategies for testing anti-cancer therapies. Researchers want to use synthetic, non-natural amino acids to develop synthetic proteins used in the discovery of new compounds with therapeutic potential.
– The project is an opportunity for a new generation of scientists from Lithuania and Poland to apply innovative synthetic biology methods in medical research – says Prof. Theodor Robert Hupp.
The DAINA 2 competition is organized by the Polish National Science Center in cooperation with the Lithuanian Scientific Council.
