The University of Gdańsk has concluded an agreement with Hevelianum – Gdańsk center for education, recreation and popularization of natural sciences. The partners’ goal is to cooperate in ecological education and environmental protection and to promote the 17 Sustainable Development Goals of the 2030 Agenda among pupils, students and residents of the Pomeranian region.
– Universities, as institutions that conduct teaching, research and influence society, have a particular predisposition to play an important role in supporting and disseminating the goals of sustainable development. Scientists and teachers of our university have been involved in such activities on various levels for many years. Currently, we want to include students, doctoral students and research clubs in this process – says the rector of the University, Prof. Piotr Stepnowski.
The signatories of the agreement will implement it through an educational program at the Spa House in Brzeźno. Important global environmental events will be the framework of the program.
