The University of Gdansk (UG) has moved up one place in the latest edition of the Times Higher Education World University Ranking (THE WUR). The university was ranked fourth in the category of classical universities in Poland. In the overall ranking of Polish universities, UG took tenth position out of all 32 ranked institutions.
THE WUR ranking is a global list including in its latest version more than 1,799 higher education institutions of various profiles from 104 countries, making it the largest and most diverse university ranking to date.
The compilation is based on 13 carefully calibrated indicators that measure an institution’s performance in the areas of teaching, research, knowledge transfer to the economy and international prestige. It is in these last two parameters that the University of Gdańsk recorded the highest marks.
