Dr Karolina Pierzynowska from the Department of Molecular Biology, Faculty of Biology, University of Gdańsk, was included in the list of Women of the Year 2021, created by the Forbes Women magazine.

– The fact that I am among not only women scientists, but also representatives of business, founders of companies and innovators, makes one reflect that further development not only towards pure science but also business could be a good idea for the near future – says a molecular biologist from Of the University of Gdańsk.
Dr Pierzynowska is also a laureate of the prestigious Future Science Future Star Award for research into the effects of one of the flavonoids – genistein – as a potential drug for Huntington’s and Alzheimer’s disease.
