The University of Gdańsk is one of the winners of the NAWA SPINAKER – Intensive International Education Programs program. The university will receive almost 800,000. PLN for the implementation of the project “International Summer School – Pollution in the Coastal Zone”. 

The project responds to the need to expand the offer for foreign students with an international education program in Earth and environmental sciences. The implementation of the goal will be possible by establishing and conducting two Summer Schools at the Faculty of Oceanography and Geography – in 2022 and 2023 years. The target group will be 60 foreign students, the recruitment will include students from the European University of the Seas (SEA-EU) consortium and other cooperating universities.

The curriculum is characterized by an innovative approach and the use of innovative technologies, incl. immersive XR (cross reality) and the combination of virtual reality technology with augmented and mixed reality.
