The National Agency for Academic Exchange has provided the University of Gdansk (UG) with more than PLN 850,000. The money is earmarked for cooperation activities with Odessa’s Ilya Mechnikov National University.
The funds will be used to involve Ukrainian scientists in joint projects and to invite them to SEA-EU alliance events such as conferences or training courses. The use of these funds within the framework of the European alliance means that academic mobility will not be limited to Eastern Europe. The initiatives described in the project assume cooperation across Poland, Norway, Germany, Portugal, Malta, Spain, Croatia and Italy.
“I believe that for the universities of our eastern neighbours, there is no better place to implement modern forms of education and realise successful scientific cooperation than participating in European partnerships”, says UG rector Professor Piotr Stepnowski.
