University of Life Sciences in Wrocław to launch Plant Disease Diagnostics Center

The Plant Disease Diagnostics Center (CDCR) has been launched at the University of Life Sciences in Wrocław. It is one of the six research laboratories that make up the University’s Center for Innovative Technologies (CIT). The main research profile of the new unit is the diagnosis of plant diseases and pests.

The aim of CIT activities in the area of ​​the Plant Diseases Diagnostics Center is cooperation with scientific and commercial units, research of forest, agricultural, horticultural and fruit plants based on quick diagnostic methods, conducting workshops and training for companies related to plant protection.

The establishment of CIT commenced in the 2016–2020, when the Center for Advanced Horticultural Production Technologies was launched. The entire investment has so far cost over PLN 4.5 million. In the CDCR, scientists will study the health of introduced plants as a result of climate change, e.g. soybean, oxytree and also organisms affecting plants – arthropods, bacteria and fungi.
