Wroclaw University of Environmental and Life Sciences and the German association Christlich-Soziales Bildungswerk Sachsen will implement the project “Network of nutritional education for the sustainable development of the Euroregion Nysa”. As part of the project, nutritional education centers will be created in Radomierz and Hoyerswerda. They help to promote health, good eating habits and not to waste food.

One of the aims of the project is to draw the attention of the region’s inhabitants to balanced nutrition. For this purpose, firstly, statistical surveys on knowledge in the field of production and handling of food in the Euroregion Nysa will be carried out.

The test results will show the type and amount of food that is bought and discarded when it could still be consumed. An analysis of eating habits will allow to assess knowledge about the nutritional and energy value of food and will enable the identification of consumer behavior patterns in selected households.
