Representatives of the authorities of the University of Lodz (UŁ) and the Academy of Fine Arts (ASP) in Lodz signed an agreement that formalizes cooperation between the two universities. Two exhibition and educational spaces have been set aside for the implementation of projects on the borderline of science and art. Numerous exhibitions, meetings, workshops and lectures are planned.

The University of Lodz and the Academy of Fine Arts in Lodz have been cooperating intensively de facto for many months, and the result of mutual efforts are interdisciplinary projects – exhibitions, meetings, workshops and lectures. Last year, the University of Lodz and the Academy of Fine Arts organized two exhibitions: the photographic exhibition “Fusion” by Dorota Stolarska-Kultys and the exhibition “Ukraine. Lviv. 2022” by Prof. Marek Domanski. 

Along with the ceremonial signing of the agreement was the opening of Artur Urbanski’s photographic work “The End of the City.” The artist offers viewers a kind of photo-essay from the borderline of urban sociology. He talks about the Lodz periphery – about the “spillover” of the metropolis and how our desire to live in an arcadia contributes to its destruction.
