On 25-26 September 2023, a delegation from the University of Lodz (UŁ) participated in the UNIC conference in Rotterdam summarising and concluding UNIC 1.0, at the same time marking the beginning of the UNIC 2.0 project starting on 1 October 2023.

The Centre for Communication and Public Relations of the University of Lodz reports that under UNIC 2.0, the university, together with the other 9 partners, has obtained funding for the project over a 4-year horizon. During a very large number of meetings, the future of the partnership was discussed, presenting the outlines of the different Work Packages and Thematic Lines that will be implemented in the new UNIC.

In 2022, the UŁ joined the European University of Post-Industrial Cities (UNIC) network, which is one of 44 European University networks. 

The next UNIC conference will take place on 4-5 December 2023 in Łódź.
