At the request of the Rector of the University of Lodz (UŁ) and the University Council, the University Electoral Commission will suspend all electoral activities until further notice. The new election agenda will be announced after returning to normal operation of the University.

The University of Lodz is the second Polish university that changes the date or suspends the election of the rector.
The memorandum of the decision of the University Electoral Commission of 18 March 2020 explains that the epidemiological situation of the country does not allow for an assessment when the epidemic threat will actually cease, and thus when preventive measures, introduced by central authorities and the Rector of the University of Lodz can be lifted.

It was concluded that there are currently no secure conditions for the proper and uninterrupted conducting of the elections.
