The Scientific Club of the Enlightenment Lovers of the University of Lodz is organizing a nationwide scientific conference “Religion and magic in culture”, which will take place on 13 April 2019 at the Faculty of Philology of the University of Lodz.

The organizers invite all representatives of the humanities and social sciences interested in the issue of religion, magic, rituals in ancient and modern culture.

During the conference, the participants will discuss the role of religion in past and contemporary communities; religious rituals, rituals and magical practices in literature, film and fine arts; religion and power; picture of a priest in culture; the social and political role of the priest in the past and modern communities; image of a deity in culture and pop culture; functioning of ancient mythology in contemporary culture.
