The University of Lodz (UŁ) is this year’s host for the renewal of the Magna Charta Universitatum and the conference ‘Universities and urban redevelopment: the role of research-based education’, which will take place from 23-25 October 2023.
The Magna Charta Universitatum, first signed by 388 rectors in 1988 in the presence of many political leaders and public representatives, and subsequently revised in 2020 to reflect the changes in the world facing universities, continues to underpin the mission and activities of universities around the world. It has now been signed by more than 950 university leaders from around the world.
Each year, the Magna Charta Observatory organises an international conference to address the current challenges of upholding core values and serving society responsibly, as well as a ceremony to celebrate the fact that successive rectors have signed the Magna Charta Universitatum. This year’s event will be hosted by the University of Lodz.
