University of Lodz to launch Sustainable Tourism – the only such study in Poland

From the academic year 2022/23, the Faculty of Geographical Sciences of the University of Lodz (UŁ), will launch a full-time course in Sustainable Tourism. This is the first and only master’s degree program with such a profile available at Polish universities.

The study of Sustainable Tourism will educate specialists in sustainable development in tourism and recreation realizing the resolution “We are transforming our world: Agenda for sustainable development 2030”, adopted by the United Nations General Assembly on September 25, 2015.

During the two-year study, students will learn about research tools, including GIS (geographic information system).

The main subjects taught in the study of Sustainable Tourism will include: problems of the modern world, basics of tourism, global problems of tourism, ethics of sustainable development, social aspects of sustainable development, sustainable development policies, cultural and natural heritage in tourism, tourism development strategies.
