The University of Nicolaus Copernicus in Toruń has started constructing the Center for Research and Conservation of Cultural Heritage. The Center is the last unrealized element of the investment program prepared a few years ago.
The unit will conduct scientific research and conservation work. There will include interdisciplinary research laboratories operating in the field of conservation, using knowledge, techniques and specialists in chemistry, physics, biology and geology.
The project provides for the purchase of a polarizing and metallographic microscope, an aging climatic chamber, an infrared spectrometer, an X-ray diffractometer, a portable digital X-ray system, a colorimeter, and 3D scanners.
The Centre will be created thanks to co-financing from the European Regional Development Fund – from the “Monumentum Sonus Visio: Academic Centers of Creative Industries of Culture, Art and Monuments Protection” project implemented jointly with the University of Economy in Bydgoszcz.
