On 4-5 April 2019, the Ignacy Łukasiewicz Museum of Oil and Gas Industry in Bóbrka is organizing the first scientific conference entitled “Towards independence” under the grant ” Towards independence: Independent Poland and Free Poles in the 19th-21st century”.

The organizer of the event is the Faculty of Sociology and History of the University of Rzeszów. As part of the conference the university provides 4 thematic sessions: Pending independence, Modernization impulses in the Polish economy, Social changes at the turn of the century, Shades of Polish modernization.

During the conference, the participants will listen to over a dozen lectures and presentations, including a lecture of Prof. Wojciech Morawski (Warsaw School of Economics) “Industrialization and modernization. Polish experiences”, and Prof. Piotr Franaszek (Jagiellonian University in Krakow) “The oil industry as a factor in the modernization of the economy and the Galician society”.
