The SANO AGH project at the AGH University of Science and Technology in Krakow has won a grant of 15 million euro in the prestigious Teaming for Excellence competition under the EU’s Horizon 2020 program. Thanks to financing, researchers will be able to conduct advanced computer simulations used in medical diagnostics.
The Center for Individualized Computational Medicine SANO will be created from the grant funds. It will deal with the creation of innovative methods of medical diagnosis and individualized therapy, which will be supported by advanced computer simulations.
The SANO Center will be created as a result of international cooperation. The consortium includes the Academic Computer Center CYFRONET AGH, LifeScience Cluster in Kraków, the German Society of Fraunhofer Supporting Applied Research and Forschungszentrum Jülich GmbH and the British University of Sheffield.
