The University of Silesia in Katowice, thanks to its high position in the competition under the program of the Ministry of Science and Higher Education “Initiative of Excellence – Research University”, will receive additional financial support in the form of an increase in subsidies by 2%. compared to 2019.

Additional PLN 6.2 million will be allocated to the Research Excellence Initiative – strengthening the position of the University as a research university by increasing the level of research, professional development of employees and the recognition of the university.

The Research Excellence Initiative consists of 6 areas of support. They include: research – financing research of international importance; visibility – financing open access to scientific publications; young talents – development of students and doctoral students; development – training for employees; infrastructure – purchase of apparatus and equipment, and mobility – financing foreign research internships.
