The University of Silesia in Katowice, the Archdiocese of Katowice and the Museum of Silesian Uprisings in Świętochłowice are inviting participants to the conference ‘Image of the Silesian Uprisings and plebiscite in education, historiography, culture and public space’ on 18 November. The event will be held under the patronage of the President of the Republic of Poland Andrzej Duda.
Participants of the meeting organized as part of the celebration of the 100th anniversary of the Silesian Uprising will present the history of Silesia by presenting the most important figures related to the areas of politics, education, culture, sport, industry and the sacred issues.
The conference is part of the University of Silesia project “Upper Silesian Pantheon – scientific research”, implemented as part of the Dialogue of the Minister of Science and Higher Education. The goal of the initiative is to create a multimedia exhibition in the basement of the Cathedral of Christ the King in Katowice, thanks to which the participants will be able to learn about the history of Upper Silesia.
