The Faculty of Geosciences of the University of Silesia invites participants from the 28th to the 30th of September to the Regional Geographical Congress “Geography against regional and global challenges”.

The program includes plenary and popular science sessions, a panel discussion, a photo competition, as well as tours around the region and geography related trips. The event is organized on the occasion of the 100th anniversary of the Polish Geographical Society, the 70th anniversary of the Katowice Branch of the Society and the 45th anniversary of the existence of geography at the University of Silesia. The meeting is also part of the celebration of the 50th anniversary of the University of Silesia in Katowice and the Year of Polish Geography.
