Pedagogium – University of Social Sciences in Warsaw, the Ignacy Daszyński’s Assciation and the Polish Branch of the European Culture Association (SEC) are organizing an inter-environmental scientific conference “Love and its varieties in the era of economic neoliberalism” in Nałęczów on May 30 – June 2, 2022.

“Economic neoliberalism shapes humans by absorbing consciousness with material goods indicated as the goal of striving, inclining to comfort, undermining the value of disinterestedness and the communities based on it. Material goods have become the supreme value for the majority of society. The rich sphere of feelings has receded into the background, despite the fact that we live in a society that refers to love of our neighbor”, writes Prof. Maria Szyszkowska, rector of Pedagogium – University of Social Sciences.

In her opinion, “for over 20 years we have cultivated the sacred right to private property. It absorbs attention more than love. And yet it is not the economic factor, but the state of consciousness, also shaped by feelings, that determines legal solutions and, as a consequence, economic issues”, emphasizes the rector of Pedagogium.
