The University of Szczecin received over PLN 1.2 million from the program of the National Center for Research and Development “Teaching staff for universal design”. It will allow the university to implement the “Accessibility Zone” project. 

As part of the project, training and workshops (including specialist courses) in disability and accessibility will be organized and conducted for participants. Foreign study trips to European universities as well as non-governmental organizations and other institutions working for people with disabilities have also been planned.

Support will be also given to educators in social sciences, representing the following scientific disciplines: security sciences, economics and finance, pedagogy and legal sciences. The teaching competencies acquired by academic teachers during the project will be practically used in the classes with students.
