The Agricultural Experimental Station of the University of Technology and Life Sciences in Bydgoszcz has been equipped with an innovative irrigation system – Irtec Hippodrom sprinkler bridge with a span of 212 m. The rain sprinkler will be used to conduct research, for didactic purposes, irrigation of the university’s arable fields, and at the same time will allow practical training of farmers.
Irtec Hippodrom has 4 bridges with jib and is able to irrigate about 66 ha. During linear movement, the machine pulls a 130 m hose and power cable, which enables the irrigation of the 260 m long area. Thanks to the automatic turning system, the service is reduced to pressing the “start” button and changing the hose between the hydrants.
This is one of the first new generation sprinklers in Poland. It can work as a centric and linear machine. Thanks to such functionality, it can irrigate a much larger area, working in an almost fully automatic cycle.
