“I am glad that you have appreciated the potential of the University of the Commission for National Education (UKEN) in Krakow, because the signed agreement is an expression of trust and I believe that with our experience, lecturers and students, we can help in many initiatives promoting and documenting the heritage of the Great Masurian Lakes”, said the Vice-Chancellor for Education and Development, Dr Robert Stawarz, Professor UKEN, during the ceremonial signing of a cooperation agreement with the Great Masurian Lakes 2020 Association.
According to Piotr Jakubowski, chairman of the Association’s board of directors and mayor of Mikołajki, for several years the Association and UKEN have been carrying out joint activities, the aim of which is, among other things, to create projects with a broader than municipal scope. “These are initiatives in various areas, including heritage, tourism and regional history”, added Piotr Jakubowski.
The agreement provides for the joint organisation of scientific, museum and exhibition events, the organisation of classes, workshops and training sessions, as well as the development and publication of historical and scientific publications.
