The University of Warmia and Mazury (UWM) in Olsztyn took the first place of 64 Polish universities that joined this year’s “Legia Akademicka” program.

The organizer of the voluntary military training of UWM students is the Faculty of Humanities. For the first place, the University of Warmia and Mazury was honored by the Ministry of National Defense with a memorial gorget and a congratulatory letter.

A year ago, 500 UWM students applied for the program, 290 joined the practical part and 260 successfully completed the training. This year there were fewer participants- 360, but more people will undergo military training- 310 students. The “Legia Akademicka” program will be implemented until 2021.
