From the academic year 2020/21 the branch of the Olsztyn University of Warmia and Mazury (UWM) in Ełk will start nursing education. The agreement was signed by Prof. Ryszard Górecki, rector of UWM and Tomasz Andrukiewicz, mayor of Ełk.

UWM is committed to launching the faculty of nursing at full-time and part-time studies at bachelor level providing it with appropriate teaching staff.

The City of Ełk will finance the equipment of nursing skills labs, fund the Mayor’s scholarships to the best students, provide free access to the Municipal Hospital base for students and to help UWM obtain properly qualified staff.

The agreement was concluded for an indefinite period and its initiator is the UWM rector.
