The Faculty of Social Sciences at the University of Warmia and Mazury (UWM) in Olsztyn has prepared two new courses for the 2023/24 academic year: Political Science and International Relations, as well as MA studies in Public Analytics and Management.

Until now, it has been possible to study political science at UWM in BA and MA studies. However, the research and teaching staff, observing current events in Poland and the world, decided that it was necessary to modernise the educational offer. The result of these reflections is a novelty, a course called political science and international relations.

Since the escalation of the war in Ukraine, geopolitics and international relations have become a very important topic. There is a demand for understanding the world in international contexts. Political science is included in the educational offers of the largest academic centres in Poland. “We, as the largest university in north-eastern Poland, offer a combination of political science and international relations, which also involves updating the didactic content”, explains Dr Beata Adrjan, Deputy Dean for Education at the Faculty of Social Sciences at UWM.
