The University of Warmia and Mazury (UWM) in Olsztyn took over the running of the 12th Secondary School of General Education (LO) of Maria and Georg Dietrich in Olsztyn, one of the best secondary schools in the region.

The Maria and Georg Dietrich 12th Secondary School in Olsztyn for years has been in the top three of the best secondary schools in the region in the ranking of the Foundation “Perspektywy”. The school closely cooperates with the Polish Academy of Sciences and the University of Warmia and Mazury, participating in laboratory classes and workshops organized in university laboratories. From September this year, its relationship with the university in Olsztyn will be even stronger. By the decision of the Mayor of Olsztyn, UWM has become the managing institution.

-This is a great honor for teachers and, above all, for students. We expect this cooperation to develop both the school and the university. Academic teachers are conducting classes with us, and our youth are participating in classes at the University. We already cooperate with the Faculty of Biology and Biotechnology, Faculty of Humanities – said Dorota Linkiewicz, director of the 12th  Secondary School in Olsztyn.
