The Department of Social Pedagogy and Educational Research Methodology at the University of Warmia and Mazury (UWM) in Olsztyn is inviting participants to the International Scientific Conference ‘Pedagogy towards the challenges of the modern world’, during which Professor Henryk Mizerek will celebrate his jubilee. The conference will take place on 16 November 2023 in the new premises of the UWM Faculty of Social Sciences.

As the conference organisers emphasise, the transformations taking place in the modern world bring with them a number of challenges. These arise from the current crises: war, migration, economic, or those caused by pandemics. In the face of these difficulties, the question arises about the place of pedagogy in the contemporary world. How can pedagogy respond to the challenges of the present and the future?

During the conference, participants will seek to answer this question by debating in three thematic areas: The teacher, education and the challenges of the present; The contemporary world, education, evaluation, dilemmas, problems; Theories, policies and social practices.
