The order of the Rector of the University of Warsaw (UW) to establish a Medical Library has been implemented. The first branch of the Warsaw University Library will provide the staff and students of the Faculty of Medicine at the University of Warsaw with access to library materials and information resources necessary to support scientific research and the teaching process.

The Medical Library is located in the Library of the Faculty of Physics of the University of Warsaw at 5 Pasteur Street in Warsaw. It is part of the Library and Information System of the University of Warsaw.

At present, the Medical Library’s book collection consists mainly of literature for first-year students of the Faculty of Medicine; the collection of textbooks for the second year has also begun. It will be expanded as the Medical Faculty grows. 

The activities of the Medical Library are co-ordinated in organisational and content terms by the Warsaw University Library.
