Doctors and scientists working at the Warsaw Genomics spin-off company originating from the University of Warsaw will carry out free tests for the Sars-CoV-2 virus on behalf of hospitals, medical facilities and sanitary-epidemiological stations. They can perform up to 1,000 tests per day.
The first molecular tests to confirm or exclude active coronavirus infection were conducted by the Warsaw Genomics team on March 20. The study is carried out using real-time RT-PCR, in accordance with the recommendations of the World Health Organization (WHO).
In consultation with the Ministry of Health, the University of Warsaw will soon provide additional dedicated and properly secured laboratory in the building of the Biological and Chemical Sciences Center for the purpose of conducting appropriate analyzes.
