The University of Wroclaw (UWr) has maintained its position in the Times Higher Education World University Rankings (THE WUR). In the latest list, the university was ranked among the 1201-1500 best universities in the world. UWr was strongest in the quality of research category, ranking 590th in the world in this category.

THE WUR is one of the most prestigious and largest university rankings, assessing more than 2,000 universities worldwide. In this year’s final list, there appeared 1,799 institutions, 137 more than last year.

THE WUR ranking compares research-intensive universities, taking into account their most important goals: teaching, research, knowledge transfer and internationalisation. The University of Oxford ranked first in the list, followed by Harvard University in second place. Third place was taken ex aequo by the University of Cambridge and Stanford University.
