The University of Zielona Góra has been conducting double diploma program for over twenty years. The newest partner of the university is the National University of Taras Shevchenko in Kiev.

The cooperation in the field of double diploma began with the Integrated Foreign Studies, which were conducted by Faculty of computer science, electrical engineering and automation of the University together with Technische Hochschule Mittelhessen – University of Applied Sciences (formerly Fachhochschule Giessen-Friedberg).

Over the years, the program was joined by universities from other countries: the Technical University of Tallinn (Estonia), the Lviv Technological University and the Technical University of Vilnius. In 2012, the Silesian University of Technology from Gliwice also joined the program. All the universities set up a network of Universities of Central and Eastern Europe (CUCEE).
