Sociologists of the University of Zielona Góra Prof. Dorota Szaban and Prof. Beata Trzop – are the authors of the book “Lubuskie inhabitants’ notes from the time of the 2020 plague. The coronavirus pandemic in a global risk society”.

The publication is based on the statements and notes of the inhabitants of the Lubuskie Voivodeship. The material was collected immediately after the implementation of government restrictions, i.e. from the beginning of March 2020 to May of the same year.

– This book would not have been written at another time and in a different social situation. It is our reaction to an exceptional social situation that fits within the optics of a social experiment in natural conditions, an experiment that nobody planned. When it became clear in March 2020 that we were entering into a specific type of relationship at the level of educational, economic and interpersonal institutions, it was obvious that this moment should be captured, retained and described – say the authors.
