Implementation of the Act 2.0 at universities and the plans of the Ministry of Higher Education and Science were the most important topics of the University Science Committee (UKN), which took place on May 16-17, 2019 at the University of Bialystok (UwB).
UKN is one of the commissions of the Conference of Rectors of Polish Universities (KRUP). It consists mainly of vice-rectors responsible for science issues.
Anna Budzanowska, the director general of the Ministry of Science and Higher Education informed about the procedures and schedule of activities related to the selection of research universities, which will receive increased subsidies in the coming years. She also talked about the elaborating the minister’s new program called Social Responsibility of Science, as well as on the ministry’s efforts to make the National Program for Humanities Development (NPRH) a government program with more grant competitions.
