25 years ago, the University Technology Transfer Centre (UOTT) was established at the University of Warsaw (UW). To mark the anniversary, UOTT events are being held in October, with participants discussing the activities and achievements to date in the commercialisation of science and the prospects for further development in this area.

The UW recalls that the 25 years of UOTT’s existence include: 368 international patent applications, 309 international patents obtained, 201 applications to the Patent Office of the Republic of Poland, 112 patents of the Patent Office of the Republic of Poland, 32 spin-off companies and 10 spin-off companies with bought-out shares of UWRC sp. z o.o.

Since its first years of activity, UOTT has been active in the field of education, providing training at UW on types of intellectual property, possibilities for its protection and ways of commercialising research results.
