The 5th International Meeting of Rectors “Universia” was held in Valencia, Spain. The event, whose motto was “University and Society”, was attended by around 700 rectors from 14 countries and representatives of politics and business. Representatives of 30 higher education institutions came from Poland. The 5th International Meeting of Rectors “Universia” was opened by the Prime Minister of Spain, Pedro Sánchez.
The meeting focused on the role of universities in the situation of current social challenges. The debates, which took place on 8-10 May, focused on three themes: lifelong learning, the promotion of entrepreneurship and innovation, networking and connection between universities from all over the world. Over the next few days, discussions will continue in the regions.
The conclusions of the summit have been published in the Valencia Declaration. It identifies areas of action that universities and rectors can take for more sustainable social and economic progress.
